Vinyl siding before and after a soft wash

Columbus guide

Pressure washing vs soft washing in Columbus, OH

One is high pressure for concrete. The other is low pressure and chemistry for siding and shingles. Using the wrong one is how vinyl gets etched and roofs lose granules.

People in Columbus use “power washing” for everything. The surface does not care what you call it. Vinyl, stucco, painted wood, and asphalt shingles want a soft wash: detergent, dwell, low pressure. Driveways, sidewalks, and some fencing want pressure washing — a fan tip, even passes, and enough PSI to lift film without chewing the cream off the slab.

Capital City Softwash does both on the same visit when the house needs it. The roof and siding get the mix. The driveway gets the wand. That is the whole distinction.

Soft washing

Low pressure, purpose-built detergents, and time. Kills algae, mildew, and lichen so they do not come straight back. Used on roofs, siding, stucco, cedar, and anything a manufacturer would not want blasted.

Pressure / power washing

High pressure on hardscape. Concrete, brick walks that can take it, sports courts, some metal. Wrong tool on a house. Right tool on the apron.

What we will not do

We will not “just pressure wash the siding because it is faster.” That is how you buy new vinyl. If a quote from someone else is a lot cheaper, ask which method they are using.

Questions

In this market, yes. Both mean high pressure on a hard surface. Soft washing is the different process.
